Earl’s Gourmet Grub (Mar Vista)

By in 13: Culver City

A new gourmet sandwich joint has opened up on the already neighborhood gems-filled block Venice Blvd. Earl’s Gourmet Grub used to be a staple at the Mar Vista Farmer’s Market, they finally setup their own shop nearby. Their sandwich menu all sounded very ‘gourmet’ – with interesting ingredients and combinations.

The interior has a lot of interesting customized wood work. The non cookie cutter decor instantly won me over (their sandwiches ought to be special!) The retail walls are stocked with chips that I’ve never heard of. They also served a lot of pastries, drinks and baked goods.

They have a shared back patio seatings with the coffee shop next door.

From their breakfast menu: POPEYE: Fried Egg, Spinach, Pepper Jack, Cajun Aioli on Brioche Roll $5.75  Very yummy! The fried egg is what does it for me. The brioche is fresh and fluffy, and the flavor is just right and not too overwhelming.

SUGAR BUSH: Canadian Ham, Gruyere de Comte, Maple Syrup Butter on Brioche French Toast $6.75. It’s two french toast with ham, cheese and maple syrup inside! It can get a bit sweet though.

Too bad this place only opened till mid-day. I’d love to come back to try their other sandwiches and soups. They also have seasonal salads.
