Mine: Special Salad $10 & Ginger Creme Brulee (yum!)
We were supposed to go to a deli but it was closed on Monday, so my boss suggested the nearby “Chaya”, at first I didn’t registered it is THAT Chaya. O,o It is just as I expected: pretentious LA fusion Asian place that’s more about the scene than the food. Well it’s daytime so there’s no ‘scene’. I forgot what my special was but it was quite good and cheap. The interior is very ugly and ridiculous imo, but then the place is meant for the night scene when it’d all dark anyway. Can’t say I know what the big deal is…

Seat & Tomoko, this is the place you gals mention before that was on Japan TV.. ^^;; I guess the big deal was that celebs hangout and 30+single bar and romantic date place at night.
You had the salad and brulee? Well, at least it was good…but $10 for a salad is not cheap wor…
oh oh, THE Chaya!!
so if your boss knows about it
does it mean that Chaya REALLY is
a hip hang-out place?
like people like you could actually go
and hang out?
oh and the creme brulee looks yummy.
The “salad” is really a fish dish (Ahi-something ^^;; forgot what fish it is) so in these pretentious restaurant’s standard the price is ok…^^;; The yellow strips are mango.
tomoko I’m not sure how snob it gets, I’m sure average joes can hang out there at night or else they’d be too ridiculous (it’s just Venice!!)
