My co-worker (who likes to eat healthy and organic) recommended me her favorite restaurant in NYC: Souen, a Japanese organic macrobiotic restaurant. The menu contains mostly tofu and seaweed, but lots of seafood and sushi as well. I got a mazed veggie rice and steamed veggie with black sesame sauce, simple tasting. I wished I had gotten more ‘challenging’ dishes like fried oyster or spaghetti see since they don’t use oil and tomato, etc, just want to see how they’re prepared. Japanese macrobiotic cookings are more creative and tasty than western. I love it~~ I also had the Tofu Fruit Pie, texture a bit rough but I love the soymilk taste.

yeah, macrobiotic is quite popular these days in Japan too, I like it too! 😀 I bet if I go to a micoriotic cooking school, I’d be more into it than the conventional cooking school I go to now (just wishful thinking? ^^;;)

Just looking at the pictures is kinda “healing”. Cute panda!

You know I feel very ill at the end eating all those oily chinese in HK and it is so stomach-relieving eating Japanese food again. I am not particularly eating in organic or healthy-conscious restaurants but the food here just has less oil anywhere you go. I had pasta today…gosh how much I miss pasta!!!

Pasta is still carb ^^;;; It’s good to have a cleansing week, then you can indulgent your foie gras and more again. 😀
