Hugo’s Restaurant (WeHo)

By in 09: Weho

Since I’ve been a bit slow in update, I’ll fill up the page with bigger picture (and deservingly so).

A great Sunday Brunch is the best kind of meal ever. The crowd here at this West Hollywood restaurant (near the Boystown) are all young, fashionable looking people, despite the typical dated Californian (= nondescript) buliding exterior.

Strawberry Chai Spice Pancakes: Strawberry, cardamon, cinnamon and ginger infused pancakes. How can a pancake taste this GOOD!? It smells heavenly, tasty subtle & hard to grasp but deliciously unique, and the texture is very smooth, not pasty and cakery at all.

Joan got the Raspberry Chocolate French Toast. There’re fresh raspberry inbetween the toast. Very fresh and good~ The maple syrup was real maple syrup, so delicious.

Their menu is full of interesting, unique and gourmet sounding items. Now that I’ve read more about this place, seems like their Pasta Papa is very famous (pasta scrambled with eggs, bacon and sausage). Also their Bloody Mary, I can’t wait to go back to try.

    Hugos is one of my favorites! I especially like their potato pancakes and poached eggs.

    Wow that’s some kickass stuff (nice photos, btw!) — I hope their dinner are equally yummy (usually go to WeHo for drinks & night eats.)

    Beware: I got really bad food poisoning at that location.

  5. Freda says:

    Thanks for the warning Tiffany…^^b

    Jonah: I debate about trying the potato pancakes too (also the Pumpkin Pancakes) but I gave in to the fancier sounding ingredient of chai and ginger ^^;;

    Thanks H.C., I wonder about their dinner too.

    RP, they have good veggie menu here too!

    Bigger photos are more eye-catching indeed, especially well-taken photos! I want to try the chai and ginger pancake! The surface looks like omelette! The French toast looks absolute heaven too~.

    btw, after I moved the photos to Flickr, which shows how many times each photo is viewed, I realise most people who visit my blog don’t really click the thumbnails. ^^;;;

  7. Freda says:

    haha I mostly click on your ‘interior” picture more often than the food, because most of the food picture is already zoom-in clear enough in thumbnails, unless it’s a darker picture or a complicated photo with lots of scramble that I need to see the details.

    I always click all your thumbnails…entirely out of habit. ^^;;;
