Pre-Halloween Party

Collection

DSC01047.jpgWent to my IF collegue's early Halloween" party at his house over the weekend. It was great fun, though it was mostly dominated by my collegue's roomate's friends (most work at NBC?), so I don't know most people there. There's a pumpkin carving contest, they also hire a masseur and a fortune teller (tarot reading) for the party! The fortune Teller was sooooo fake, she told everybody the exactly same things!

She basically told everyone that you have no worries for $$ as comfortable lifestyle are at your fingertips. You'd become successful and rich, but don't flaunt it because there're many people jealous of you out there. For some people they'll be successful in the medical field (which is funny because all the people there are mostly entertainment/design industry) For the women, you'd have 2, 3 or 4 kids. You will travel a lot, and you'd get an offer from an older man (or woman) and must take it at once because you won't regret it. blah blah blah...

So everybody in the party got the same readings with slight variations...she didn't even bother to come up with more scenarios. At least her fake acts provide a common topic ("she said that to you TOO!???") among everybody in the party ^^;;;

DSC01041.jpgDSC01050.jpg Some of the finished carved-pumpkins. I've never done it and didn't want to (what a mess). You have to put in $10 if you enter the contest as the winner gets to take all.

DSC01045.jpgDSC01046.jpgThis one is amazing! My IF collegue (the host) carved this himself for indoor decoration. Also a clear picture taken with flashlight to see the details.

DSC01042.jpgDSC01039.jpgToo bad I have to use flashlight. These webby vintage photographs were all over the house covering the walls. The rooms were completely dark except for a blacklight, so all these figures in the photograph GLOW in a errie green/purple light. It looked very cool! My ambitious collegue actually found lot of these vintage photographs (wonder if he used office time to print them) and bought hundreds of frames from this old lady at craiglist.

DSC01043.jpgAgain, my ambitious collegue spend 6 hours to melt candles onto this mantle, crazy~~

Thie host of the party is another of those people who'd spend a fortune and dedicated life-time effort just to decorate a party, or plan a prank, etc. amazing people indeed...^^;;;
