The place Vero freelanced at was Blind. Yesterday's lunch (and also the Ramenya) I was meeting up with a friend who's freelancing at Blind now (and brought the Blind crowd). It was next to 3rd St. Promenade. DK's LA office (where Paul works) was around here too. There're lots of design studios on Main st., Yuri's office is here, so is another motion place called Motion Theory (Earl is staff there). Also a lot of movie trailer houses. Such a small world as everyone knows everyone. Someone who were freelancing at IF before is now freelance in Stardust (it's like "hey you~~"), and if you dropped a name everyone know who you're talking about. But I haven't bump into anyone just by walking on street yet though ^^;;; Freda | December 10, 2004 09:07 AMpoor Freda, I know what you mean. . . Jason's old place only have Starbucks and I always pick up coffee from Peets before I go see him so I won't have to suffer. . . but i forgot once, and the double shot latte I got from Starbucks wasn't even strong enough compare to Peet's brewed coffee. . . I was so mad that i spend almost $4.00 on shitty coffee!!! i couldn't even finish it and just throw it away after couple slip. btw, why did Joan stop drinking coffee? I don't think I can ever let coffee out of my life. . . tina | December 10, 2004 08:19 AMReally~ I gotta try it someday. There'll be an Urth Caffé opened soon across Stardust, maybe it'll be opened when I go back there ha~~ Few days ago I walked A LOOOONG way (10 blocks at least) to get Starbuck coffee...NOT my choice of course, I was reluntantly dragged along. Meanwhile we passed by Peet's Coffee and tons of other indie coffee house blocks earlier...but the person I walked with promised couple other people to get Starbucks for them (and they genuinely think SB is superior). I'll never forget that...damn you Starbucks!!! X0 Freda | December 10, 2004 07:54 AMthe short cake was pretty good for me. i love fresh cream, but only when they are FRESH!!! but i still like the one from Urth cafe the best. they make it into 3 layer cake packed with fresh berries, and the cake itself is nice and moist. . . X) tina | December 10, 2004 06:32 AMHahaha~ half of the bread was gone the night I brought home (they ate them as midnight snack ^^;;;) Yeah I think if the strawberries are fresh and sweet and cream very light (like this one here) it can be very good but never 'heavenly' level because it's still just a shortcake ^^;; Freda | December 10, 2004 04:30 AMOh so funny that you said your bread "were eaten" by your parents, as if they were cows or pigs or something. ^^;;;;; seat | December 10, 2004 02:26 AMOh the pumpkin tart has cream and choc powder on it, looks good! Actually they all look good. Hey, shortcake can be very very nice if done well~~~Simplest thing is the hardest to make right~~~not that I know how to make...^^;;; seat | December 10, 2004 02:24 AM
