A New Place
Starting Monday I'm working at this new but secret place started by my former teacher/art director. It is located at Playa del Rey, also right by the beach like Stardust did. I thought it would take me longer than going to Venice but turns out it's the same. The area is like middle of nowhere, such a quiet little seaside town with not much visitor. The office is...remodeled from a "house" ^^;; It's quite cool though, doesn't feel like an office with fireplace lit and a totally groovy 60s kitchen (damn I wish it were mine!!!).
Well my new boss won the project of re-branding BBC America, it's a huge project. He sold his ideas that would allow him to direct a shoot, and he got it! Director's dream comes true at last (and so typical of him to brag about it all the time ^^;;;). The actors/actresses were auditioned and casted and they came costume fitting on Monday. There were sooooo many people there that I can barely concentrate in my work. The wardrobe designer brought in truck loads of costumes. Just like the storyboard, she made a lot of clothes out of the Union Jack flag too. The cast include a fat guy, a Marilyn Manroe type, a punk rocker with mohawk, an astronaut in spacesuit, a huge woman in Viking outfit, a sexy dominatrix, a West-side story type of 50s street gangster...and many more.
The shoot started today at a film studio in Hollywood, and I'll be all by myself in the office/house for the entire week....so cozy~
More pics of kitchen

There are three G5s total.
All artworks by Adam (except the showgirl, dunno who she is ^^;;)

2+ hours!!! Argh, that REALLY is TOUGH!! Weekends must be especially precious for you now ^^!!

I know 10, 405 so well now ^^;; Gosh I went thru the horrible ordeal of 'stuck in traffic for 2+ hours with a soon-to-be-burst-blatter' twice in two weeks! I swear I'll never drink any liquid past 5 pm and never leave office before 7pm...

Wow! Very very nice-looking office indeed, and I like that area on the whole!! But now you have to drive to work everyday by yourself?? Be careful!

haaa, ture. i don't think the chinese wok will fit on that thing too. but hey, it looks very small that i don't mind just having it for boiling water for coffee and tea :)

I forgot to take pics of the sink...it's soooo TINY!!! I was trying to wash dishes one day and it's...like impossible. It's like toy size (I think some toy kitchen set has bigger sink that that). ^^;; Not very practical living and built for used for cute display only.

That stove probably doesn't work well with cooking chinese food though!?

god i love the stove and the toaster!!! we're shopping for the new house now and these are exactly the things i want to put in the house. . .

Added more pics. There's one (and the only) room I didn't take pictures of, it's where the editing machine is. The bathroom is in there. The house isn't totally fixed up yet, and there's something wrong with the bathroom door (very old wood in battered condition) that there's danger of jamming and forever stuck in there ^^;; So we can never shut the door...
Vero you should take pics of DK,I want to see how it's like~ ^^
Oh yeah BBC wants "Tar-jay" feel~ ^^;; gosh everyone wants to copy Target. But those latest Target compaigns are sooooo annoying~ can't stand the songs and the choreograph and all are mediocre...

haaa, well, parking lot and restaurant is better than the wall i am facing. . . i just want some fresh air and maybe a glimps of some tree branches will be nice too . . . ania's office is at santa monica. Her office is not that big but it's beautiful and cozy with 2 wall made out of window, natural lighting and great view :) i wish i can work there someday. i guess that's my dream/goal now. . . i really like ania as a person and teacher. im trying to improve myself so one day i can work for her.

Unfortunately it's the parking lot and a restaurant my window is facing, totally wrong direction ^^;; However, in the main office (my teacher's company is represented by a group that own 2 other design places) right next to this 'house", they get the ocean view~~ duh~~~ ^^;; Wow where is Ania's office at?
Freda | December 16, 2004 03:58 AM
wow!!! this is such a nice place. I can totally imagine you guys living in a place like this. btw, can you see the ocean from your office window? I visited ania's office (the packaging teacher at ACCD), you can actually see some nice view from her place. . . man, i wish i have a window@_@;;;
