Tsar Nicoulai Caviar (San Francisco)

Food 19: Travel + Travel

We had a getaway to San Francisco (again!) and Napa Valley (north of SF) over the weekend. We drove there this time and it took us 7 hours to get to SF! @_@ We had to leave our house at around 6:00 am. When we get to SF we're starving. We went back to Hog Island Oyster again for lunch ^_^. We got the exact same things too, the raw oyster and the clam chowder are just too delicious! Even though we were full already, but we had to try the caviar at Tsar Nicoulai Caviar that's also in the Ferry Building Famrer's Market. We got the sampler plate ($18) to try little bit of everything. From clockwise: Golden Pearl Trout (taste just like Ikura), American Golden Whitefish (very good!), Wasabi Whitefish (Wasabi flavor goes well with caviar), Ginger Whitefish (the best one), Truffled Whitefish (too mushroomy), Beet-Saffron Whitefish (I don't like Beet-Saffron's taste). The bread thingy in the bottom is very delicious.

Wow. Even though I won't be able to eat any of these they look *beautiful*. The spoons are uber cute too X-D

Yeah I wonder why Japanese don't experient on different ways to eat ikura! Wasabi flavor Ikura seems like something Japanese would do.

It was so funny the guy who serves us is soooooo gay (not cute, chubby too). I've never seen a guy THAT gay before, I couldn't stop laughing whenever he talks...it's just....way toooo gay.

Wow~~~~!!! It looks so colourful so nice!!!! I want to try!!! Why Japanese don't have stuff like this even though ikura etc is so common...

And big plate with bite-size food on it always looks so good. ^^;;;
