dim sum (NYC: Chinatown)

So I went with Noami and her bf for dim sum in Chinatown, the restaurant is called something else in Chinese but as usual called something 88 in English. It is inside a very 70s mall with chandelier, escalators, lightboxed waterfall photographs...it is truly frozen in time. It is quite empty so I figure this place can't be that good. There were only the same 4 carts circling around with same dishes. The dishes are mediocre, the sweet stuffs are better. After we paid at the cashier and about to leave, the manager ran after us demanding "tips! tips!" in English (he never paid attention to us before). The lady waved our tips in the background to let him know. Sheesh...

was it 88 Palace on 88 E. Broadway? i still haven't tried that place yet, but I've tried most of them and I narrowed it down to Golden Bridge and Jing Fong. =)

I wonder the one donny went would be better, I completely forgot where this one is. I want to try some of those Shanghai place there, so many! There're also tons of $1 for 5 dumpling/xiao lung bao places, my friend said they're good, awesome for the designers who worked there ($1 dumplings lunch everyday!) ^^;;
