Stir fried Red pepper and ham

Food 23: Kitchen

DSC08982.jpgWe've been doing some cooking ourselves since we moved to our place, hehe... We bought lots of groceries over the weekend. With no specific recipes in mind, we just get whatever we like. I like peppers a lot, especially red and yellow ones. I think they're especially yummy when stir-fried. Ideally I would like to stir-fried pepper with fish cakes (cantonese ones) but all we had was honey baked turkey ham. I added some salt and little bit of pesto sauce (just because we had it ^^;;), pine nuts and sesame. End result? Very good :D! It got muliple flavors that blended well together well. Pesto sauce get burned easily so have to add it at the last step.

During cooking I always come upon things I wish we have, especially seasonings like peppers, basil, garlic...etc etc. It's quite fun to not follow specific recipies and just be creative with whatever you have at the fridge, and see what you can make out of them.

Comments:

Good list Vero! I'm definitely stock up all of those, yeah chinese ones are good too, like oyster sauce and "hoshin" sauce. Oh Tomoko, Vero is certainly a great cook, remember this?
Truffle is a type of rare and expensive mushroom, but I never knew there's oil. What do you add them to?

I think our place is guest-ready starting this weekend hehe... (as we finally have all our furnitures other than the sofa and have some of the decorations up).

Oh wow!! *o*!!

Ha, buying cookbooks is useless cos you never bother to follow it anyway. Right to just use your instinct - which I haven't. ^^;;

Yeah how nice to have 2 people. You can get a bottle champagne to share...^^;;
