Yeah, I never felt like 'home'...I sometimes think it's kinda sad yet I'm comfortable with it. I don't relate to the Asian 'community' nor the supposed Asian's interest and experience. ^^;; Freda | April 27, 2006 07:14 AMYou grew up there yet you still feel an outsider?? LA is quite multi-cultural and not all-white, so I thought it would be easier to feel home... seat | April 25, 2006 08:18 PMAll Koreans except a table of Caucasians and us. Before it is known that k-town is un-foreigner friendly with Korean only signages/menus and waiters can't speak english etc. I think it's mostly Americans who complain about that (others should cater to their comfort level instead of the other way around) because I don't feel that at all...but then I always feel like an outsider wherever I go in LA so I'm used to it. Most restaurants have giant photos on wall so you can point and click. Maybe these recent years has improved. Perhaps I need to go to the hardcore Korean local part of town to experience that. ^^;; For some reason a lot of waiters assume we're Japanese and some spoke Japanese to us.
