Irori (Marina del Rey)

Food 14: Marina del Rey

Just when I thought there's nothing much around closed to where I worked, I found an elaborate looking sushi restaurant well hidden in a mini-mall. It has a 'no-shoe allowed inside' gimmick. I had the sashimi set while my friend had the sushi set (not in photo). The menu seems Americanize (garlic tuna!?). Nothing wow nor memorable, the tuna was a bit dark color and rubbery texture. But it is an alright place for sudden sushi craving at that area.

yeah they stopped everyone to take off their shoe at the waiting lounge area. I've read American complaints about taking off shoe, but really a lot of people on the west side are wearing beachwear, flip-flops anyway, they're practically shoe-less. ^^;; I would be more unwilling to take off shoe in Japan (metropolitan city, humid). I can't imagine going to bathroom barefeet though...eww...(didn't dare to go)

Even in Japan, I hate taking off my shoes...^^;;

do they make customers take off their shoes?
I wonder if American customers dislike taking off their shoes in public...?? ^-^
