Tofu Festival (Little Tokyo)

Food 18: Other

More like a Asian American cultural fair featuring local Asian business and soy products. The entrance fee was $8, and still have to pay for food from individual booth. -_-;;;

They called this tofu-filled Okonomi-yaki the "Japanese Pizza." Bad of course (it has frozen green peas and carrot cubes and no flavor), but it was still one of the most popular: the line was long and many people asked me where I got it.

The most yummy food are the festive ones from Thai food booths. Though they don't seem to be tofu related... The 2 tofu on the right are from the Maison Akira booth. Just a block of cold tofu with sauce pour on top...?

The longest queue was Island Dango's sweet deep fried dango. Soy yogurt: Lemon Ginger and Cherry (scoop from their product). I was disappointed that I couldn't find my most wanted tofu Cheese mousse or tofu custard. There wasn't much innovative tofu-themed food offerings.

Comments:

Yeah sweet grand marnier sauce, but the sauce was so little that you're left with a huge portion of plain tofu block...^^;; The dango...is flour kind...in fact it's more like a certain cantonese street side fried ball thingy (dunno what it's called ^^;;)

The tofu with strawberry looks good, it is sweet right? Deep-fried dango...wow I haven't never seen it before. It is just mochi inside?
