Pazzo Gelato (Silver lake) and Scoop (Heliotrope Dr)

Food 05: Silver Lake + Food 07: Mid-Wilshire

DSCN7967.jpgPardon the blurry pix. Located near the Sunset Junction, a new gelato place Pazzo Gelato became an instant favorite at Silver Lake. We were there after 11 pm and it was packed, the waiting long queue extended to outside. Their flavors aren't as innovative as Scoop but there are some interesting ones also. Jon and I tried the Basil lemon and Espresso. Very good!

DSCN7990.jpgMore from Scoop! We got the Chai + Coffee, Apricot + peach and Melon + banana. All really good! I especially dig the Chai+coffee. There were some crazy flavor this time, such as chocolate curry (!!! taste like very sweet curry...^^;;) and wasabi ginger...

Comments:

There's definitely a gelato boom in LA right now (like the winebar/tapas/izakaya boom awhile ago).

Pazzo Gelato was good, but in my opinion it lacked the inspiration of Scoops. That Scoops guy is an ice cream genius.
