Monte Alban (West LA)
Horchata con Nieve with red cactus fruits (Jiotilla) and their signature dish: Chicken Mole Negro.
Monte Alban is another Oaxacan restaurant on the Westside, many foodies argued it being better than Guelaguetza Palms Restaurant (or not as good). So I ordered their most basic dish. Their mole is very chocolatety and very sweet...in fact a bit TOO sweet. But it's still very yummy, but I'd have enjoyed it more if it were chicken back/thign instead of chicken breast. Mole really haunts me, I often thought about the flavor and aroma, trying to grasp and dissect that taste in my head. ^^;;; I think their menu is generally smaller than Guel but features more seafood dishes. The interior is surprisingly spacious (since it locates inside a small strip mall). I can't wait to go back to try their more complicated dishes.

The more you eat it, the easier you can tell the difference in quality? Chocolatey and sweet sounds good to me, being used to Japanese food which is often a bit sweet.
