Comfort Cafe (Hyperion)

Food 05: Silver Lake

Comfort cafe is comfy indeed. A cute cafe in Silver lake recently started to offer brunch. Perhaps that's why it's still rather unknown and not flooded with the weekend brunch crowd like other silver lake places. Though that doesn't mean their food isn't good. The Egg benedict and french toast we got are both fantastic and reasonbly priced. They've got lunch menu and there's a deli section too. Supposely they have great pasteries (the chef was on the first season of Top Chef?) but the baked goods section were empty when I was there. All the tables have chalk board surfaces that's accompanied with a little cup of chalks. There goes my drawing of Jon and me :P

Ahh yes it's that the next Food network star show. Thanks for the correction Adam. I haven't seen either of the show before, I will try to catch the upcoming Top Chef. Now I'm very curious at the pastries at Comfort.

I think you mean the Food Network reality one, not Top Chef. He was second runner up (I think his name was Reggie) and he was a pastry specialist. Definitely an entertaining show, but Top Chef is one up.
