Lunch with 2 friends here.

One person got the Curry Don and two of us got the Bento Lunch set of the day: Salmon $9. Incredible~
I didn't know about this well hidden Japanese restaurant, up on the 2nd floor of a plaza (without visible signate from outside). Normally I wasn't too thrill about bento lunch set (spoiled by many cheap ones), but I'm really really impressed. Can't wait to come back to try other day's.

Yashima is on the 2nd floor of the plaza at Sawtelle/Olympic.

Seat: yes it's a very good lunch deal, I can't believe it either...good amount of sashimi, lots of hot fried tempura (lots of my favorite yam), the salad came with an ahi-fish with yummy sauce, and some freshly grilled (hot!) yakitori.

Hey Gillian, the restaurant is at the 2nd floor of the plaza that is in the corner of Olympic and Sawtelle.

Hi Sandy, I've never been to Mishima but i'm told that Yashima is just like Mishima. My guess is same as Tiffany's...

Yashima used to be Mishima. I'm not sure if one of the owners left or what. The food is still the same. It's perfect on a cool or rainy day.

I wonder if these guys also run Mishima on 3rd and LaCinega...in the same plaza with the kiwiberry, aka pinkberry copykat. Mishima has pretty good lunch deals, too.

A lot of food for $9! Can't believe it is even cheaper than in japan! Tempura included in bento at cheap places is often pre-made and not hot, and I really hate that. Is this one good?
