Patisserie Chantilly (Lomita)

Food 17: South Bay

We went back to the far far away Patisserie Chantilly at Lomita (see previous entry). It's now our must stop whenever we were in the South Bay area.

Cheesecake (light sour cheese, very delicate tasting yet cheesy, amazing!) and Mont Blanc (rich and sweet marron taste, so good, wish it were bigger portion).

DSC03218.jpgWe got a box of Black Sesame and Vanilla cream puffs to go. They're huge and looked so delectable and beautiful! However they're a bit overbaked. Otherwise the cream is very good.

Now I've tried a few cream puffs in LA, I think my favorite is Angel Maid, they were bite size, light puff, really good when eaten fresh and the cream is flavorful.

Comments:

Hi Ellen, I thought the Beard papa's cream puff taste a bit manufactured. Sometimes (depending on location) the cream could be a bit runny. Nonetheless I do like them too.

What about the cream puffs at Beard Papa? Have you tried them? Do you like them?

Thanks Doug and DK. I need to close down my comments after awhile to avoid spam attack. Too bad things are a little slow on eating out these days (tax time..^^;;;)

Seat, I think creampuffs are better as simple small ones, the bigger fancy ones are sometimes...too much? ^^;;

Hello! I wanted to post a comment for Sakura House in Culver City, but its too old (2005). It was very good! I think your blog is the best! I surf to your site when I get hungry at work, or when it is slow and I am bored. Good pictures, and so many places!

Wow - looks too good to eat - almost.

Mont Blanc looks good! The cream puffs look better in pics than Angel maid's, but are not as good? Maybe you need to eat them while they are fresh.
