６日華亭に行かれたんですか！！
私は３日の平日で行きました。
冬筍の料理はノーチェックでした！
どんな感じでしょうか？

創發は行ったことがないですが、
今回行った「潮州城」は微妙でした。
まだ写真を整理してないけど、
早くアップしたいです。

そうですね！
一卓料理囲んでみたいですね。
料理の写真全部取るのは大変になりそうですけど、、、笑！

はじめまして！
Ｓｉｎｐさんお久しぶりです。
毎回行く華亭、今回は６日の夜に行ってきました～
毎回色々食べますが、冬の定番、冬筍のお料理は昨年品切れで
ふられたので特に美味しく感じましたね～
昨年の１１月に友人（いつも一緒に華亭に行っている友人）が行った時、珍しくよくなかったと言っていましたが、今回は良かったです。

ここや、創發は味もさることながら、お料理に勢いがあって好き
です。
いつでも熱々でサーブされますし･･･

隣のテーブルは一卓料理を囲んでいました～
人数集めてここで一卓料理囲んでみたいです！

是非是非、香港に行く時はおっしゃってください。
今年はフレンチはもちろん、和食も開拓したいものです。
懐石は高すぎますが、モダンバージョンならなんとか行けるかも、、、。

「砂鍋雲呑鶏」も予約しましたけど、
「乞児鶏」とダブってしまって、キャンセルしました、、、
今度は絶対「砂鍋雲呑鶏」も食べてみたいです。
ちなみに、ここ、アレンジ致しますよ、笑。

In 金庸’s novel 「射雕英雄伝」, 「乞児鶏」 is what 黄蓉(the heroine) cooked for 洪七公(who is the head of 丐幇=group of beggars) to win his heart and to make him take her as his apprentice even she is a girl…^^;;; I think it is an old recipe, and many 杭州’s restaurants have it in their menu. I don’t know what the vegetables are inside the chicken! The taste is so unique that I can’t describe it…it is sweet and has some 薬材 flavour. I am sure L.A. has some 杭州 restaurants? Go try try! But definitely book it in advance cos it needs to be grilled for many hours. This dinner I went with my family and oh god it was such a nighmare before we settled to eat. First the place was really obscure to find, and my dad was driving us there and we had such a hellish time trying to get there, and then it was the impossible task of find a place to park, at the end we had to park inside a hospital nearby…and we were late for more than half an hour, and my dad wouldn’t stop complaining why I should pick such a obscure place to eat, and I sorta lost my temper and said sarcastically, “Shall we cancel the booking and just go back home?” I regretted it immediately once I said it…maybe because I was the one who chose this place and I felt responsible, you know…but he was just complaining because he was frustrated in driving and getting us there and not really meant to scold me…but still…the atmosphere got kinda awkward after this argument…and when we got there and started to order, half of the choices in the menu had already run out and my dad just gave up and threw down the menu and asked the waitor, “So what do you have that is AVAILABLE?” But the available choices were not my dad’s favourite and the atmosphere got even more awkward, you know….But it got much better once the pre-ordered beggar chicken arrived and even my impossibly fussy dad liked it so phew! The other dishes were quite sweet in taste(杭州 cuisine’s characteristic) and my mom and sister really liked it in general. We almost finished the whole chicken but the waitor was urging us to take away the leftover, so we reluctantly did, which turned out to be a good idea cos my mom used the leftover chicken to make instant noodles the next day and it was so good~~~! ^^;;;

The “beggar” comes from the dirty wrapping (newspapar?!?!)
wow so how’s the chicken different in taste?

WHAT? It’s called “Beggar’s chicken” yet also called “Wealthy Chicken”? What irony. And it took 6 hours to make!? What’s inside the chicken?
