060901 002.jpg060901 004.jpg
One of my friends said this Nepal/Indian restaurant was famous but at lunch time they only do buffets(950yen), which I tried anyway. There were four different kinds of curries(chicken curry was the best), naan and saffron rice, some fried snacks and simple salad, yogurt, chai and coffee. It is really not bad for a buffet lunch. The naan were cut into small pieces so you could take a small piece at a time and wait for new ones coming out hot from the oven when the old ones got cold.

Went back for dinner. Nepal steamed dumplings “momo” - just like the chinese “sho lon po” but with lamb meat and thicker skin, quite nice though. The sauce in the middle was quite spicy. Cheese naan, very soft and the melted cheese had onion in it.

Chef’s salad. Gosh isn’t it massive for 480yen?! A bit too much dressing.
Tandoori sparerib was absolutely wonderful! I couldn’t stop munching the bones covered in chilli paste. The meat was not as soft and tender as I had hoped but the hot spicy flavour satisfied my tastebuds so no complaints.

Back to this nice local curry place. Pork sparerib curry(Korma sauce). Mild and creamy, very nice! The naan is soft and hot from the oven as usual, very massive but so good that you can finish it in no time and want more. Mango Lassi cocktail - very sweet and quite strong in alcohol.

Finally a proper Mexican dinner! Mango frozen margarita was delicious, a big glass too! We ordered beer and sangria in pitchers and they were HUGE!! The sangria was sweet and strong, very good.

ENSALADA DE LA CASA :
PULPO AL AJILLO :
Marinated cactus, with tomato, avocado, cheese, fried pork skin. First time eating cactus, tasted pretty normal like bell pepper~
Octopus saute with chilli and garlic. Quite spicy and strong flavour, the octopus was very soft. Love this dish.
060918 011.jpg060918 019.jpg
CAMARONES AL TEQUILA :
Prawns with tequila cream sauce. This was everyone’s favourite. Very sweet and creamy, almost like a French dish. The tortillas came with most of the dishes other than those that came with rice, so we ended up with loads of them. We finished them all though cos they were very good with the sauces.

SOPA DE MARISCOS :
PUNTAS MEXICANAS :
Seafood soup with prawn, squid and crab. Not as hot as it looked, though rich with spice. Loved it.
Beef fillet simmered with vegetables and chilli. Tasted like a chinese dish!! Not spicy at all. The usual beans on the side were the best I have had so far, in complete paste form and very smooth, a bit salty.
060918 034.jpg060918 055.jpg
POLLO CON MOLE CIRUELA : 30
Grilled chicken with mole sauce. Finally tried mole sauce!!! :-D!! Supposed to be chocolate and spice? I was expecting some mind-blowing exotic taste but it turned out to be just a very mild and slightly bitter curry…^^;;
The band played around each table(yeah tacky I know but it was fun ^^;;) and you could request songs. All I could think of was “Quizas, Quizas, Quizas”, and they played it, which was very nice. I searched my ipod immediately and requested another song but they didn’t know it. ^^;;

CREPAS CON CAJETA :
LECHE FRITA CON TEQUILA :
Crepe with caramel sauce. The crepe tasted a bit old and hard. Not too sweet so easy to eat though.
Custard in flaming tequila. Nice show. ^^;; The aftermath custard tasted pretty normal. We had coffees also. The one with cinnamon and brown sugar was good but quite sweet. Tequila and coffee was very strong, my friend didn’t put sugar so a bit bitter for me. I had chocolate and coffee…hmm, for some reason it was not hot and just tasted like the instant hot choc you make before you go to bed. ^^;; Anyway, the atmosphere was great, the food was good overall, 5 of us shared and we drank quite a bit and it came up to 5000yen per person - expensive for Mexican perhaps but considering the location it was pretty reasonable.

Condensed milk on top of very bitter coffee, a bit too sweet but nice. Not much difference from Vietnamese coffee I thought…
060916 041.jpg060916 044.jpg

Cheese cake and blend coffee. The cheese cake has sour cream in it and is really quite sour. The blend coffee is nice…I watched the girl barista make it for me and I thought: hey I’m doing similar things at home with a coffee filter. ^^;; The blend doesn’t taste that unique either yet it costs 735yen…gosh. There are cheaper places with better quality beans but then, the atmosphere here is very classic and sophisticated, and the porcelain cups they use are very elegant…

Just steak. The meat quite rough but well it is very cheap.

First visit. A bit expensive for the standard - should have just ordered cheap pasta lunch instead of full course…

060912 004.jpg060912 003.jpg
Second visit. Fusilli with shrimps in tomato cream sauce and rucola paste. Last time I made a mistake of ordering the expensive lunch course and expecting higher standard and was disappointed, but this time I knew what to expect and for a 1000yen lunch this place is acceptable.

060728 067.jpgFirst visit. Mille-feuille. A chocolate tart with pistachio cream, apricot and raspberry and 62% chocolate ganache cream. Both are so fantastic!! The tart, the pastry, the chocolate, the cream….every component is perfect, and not too sweet overall. Immediately a fan of this place. Got the galette and the financier to take-away, both very good too. My friend who went with me had mango tart which was also great. The only complaint is the interior…feels more like an office than a cake shop.

060909 034.jpg060912 025.jpg
Second visit. Mango cream tart on the left, orange and raspberry and coconut cream tart on the right. Both are good! Though the two cakes from first visit were more to my taste. Financier framboise - very rich and heavy in butter(^^;;), good! Speculos - cookies with cinnamon, nutmeg seed, ginger powder and cardamon. Hard and crunchy, spicy and addictive~

Vegetarian restaurant opened by a Taiwanese lady. Today’s lunch: fried fake-meat made from soybean, spicy aubergine, hijiki(seaweed), brown rice and seaweed soup. The tiny place was filled with Taiwanese! Taste-wise…it was the usual mystery of how chinese veggy retaurants always make vegetables taste so bad. ^^;;
