A French restaurant inside Hotel Okura. Food is overall quite good. Very light-tasting. Portion a bit small….the fish is tiny! My friend remarked that you can probably eat this kind of French even when you get old…in fact other customers were mainly elderly. ^^;;; I heard that this French restaurant is famous for heavy sauces and traditional French-style and big portion…that’s why I wanted to try this place in the first place. I wonder if the chef is different. The service is brilliant though. Very attentive and warm. There was a 40-something couple celebrating birthday behind us and also an Omiai going on in the private room….

  1. Amuse-bouche – whoa beautiful gradient! How perfect the colors goes from darkest reddest beets to yellow potatoes. ^^;;

    The egg cream wine mousse taste like eggnog perhaps?

    haha so cliche, omiai must either held at upscale japanese or french restaurant…

  2. I never heard of eggnog!! Had to search in Wikipedia to find out what it is. ^^;;;;;;;

    The omiai looked pretty formal, with madams wearing kimono….

  3. All the dishes are pleasing to the eyes :-)!
    Oh seato, to answer your Q awhile ago on the twins’ blog- I don’t eat raw veggies simply because I find them generally tasteless ^^; I eat a lot of carbon hydrate stuffs- and it shows QwQ!!!

  4. I used to HATE HATE HATE raw vegetables but after reading a couple of books on diet and nutrition(^^;;;), I am so convinced that eating raw vegetables makes you live longer, healthier and thinner! Apparently the amount of enzyme a person can produce in a lifetime is limited, that’s why people have smaller appetite when they get old. Raw food has enzyme in it and eating raw food with your meals reduces the amount of enzyme your body needs to produce. Basically eating raw food delays aging!! Also I used to believe that you need to eat meat/dairy products to get enough protein…but after reading this book(high recommended btw), I decide to go all vegetarian whenever I am NOT eating out in restaurants. ^^;;;
