Pretty nice and fairly reasonably priced sushi place right behind Nihonbashi Takashimaya. I really like the Chirashi-zushi here. Nigiri set is also good. Don’t recommend the Tekkajuu though.

Sushi cheap eat place near Okachimachi station. There are a few sushi shops on the same little alley – I’ve tried “Sushi Ko”, and also “Kappa sushi”(no pics) which is very cheap at lunch time(2 for the price of 1) but I thought the fish didn’t taste fresh.

There are cheaper nigiri sets but I got the middle rank set(left pic). Hmm the fish tastes quite bland. Went back again for a late lunch. I was alone but I ordered from the a la carte anyway even though they come in 2-4 pieces. (Right pic)3 nigiri of Aji in the front. 2 Sanma at the back.

Thick slice of fish, good-for-the-price quality sushi near Okachimachi station. Seems quite popular as it is always packed with people when other sushi shops nearby are pretty empty. The atmosphere is casual and lively inside. The chef told me many tourists visit this shop and his eyes are trained well to tell the difference between Chinese, Korean and Japanese. Well he guessed that I was Korean….^^;;;

A famous sushi place with only 8 counter seats. Located in an area where at night, mainly salarymen hang out. The chef is a big guy and can be intimidating af first, but he is very friendly and talks and smiles a lot. He let me take pictures of the sushi but my seat was right in front of him so it was quite embarassing, especially when there were so many of them. ^^;;; Wanted to jot down what we ate but just couldn’t in that situation…what I could recall afterwards might not be that reliable. The course included 18 sushi. And the rice for the sushi was so big(the fish was not small either), I was stuffed to my throat by the end. Other customers gave up after 15. The rice is strong with “red vinegar”, and there were 4-5 out of that 18 sushi that had the fish itself vinegar-pickled also, so it was a bit too much sour taste towards the end. Quality is high nonetheless, and good value considering how much food you get. You don’t have to order the omakase – you can choose what you like or request for a course with fewer sushi.

Very delicious sushi! The taste, the size, the look are all so elegant. The 35-year old chef is very humble and friendly. Finally I found a great sushi place which is high-quality, with comfortable atmosphere, and affordable!

Osaka Oshizushi and steamed sushi with anago(in the bowl). The four oshizushi are nothing special but the hot anago sushi bowl is quite nice. Quite expensive for the amount you get though. Love the interior.

7700yen for two hours of “tabehodai”(eat as much as you like) of beef shabu shabu and sushi, and “nomihodai”(drink as much as you like) of beer, sake and other beverages. You get one big plate of assorted sushi at the beginning and you can order other stuff by filling out the sushi order sheet. The quality of the sushi is so-so except the anago which is quite good.

The quality of beef varies, some were soft and delicious. Limited myself to about 5 or 6 sushi to save space for the beef. It is only hot water in the hotpot, not dashi that would have been much nicer.

The uni is quite bitter, probably very cheap uni.

Kishimen(flat udon) is added to the soup at the end – very nice since the soup is finally full of flavour from all that beef and veggy cooked in it. Matcha ice-cream as dessert.

Location is right at the main road of Roppongi. We went on a Thurs night and it was fully packed with salarymen and many foreigners. It was so busy that many of our sushi orders never came.
