While Joan heads down to warmth and tropical weather, I took a short weekend getaway with friends at Vegas. Since we were staying at Venetian, we tried Thomas Keller‘s more moderate priced French bistro Bouchon at Vegas.
Charming faux antique interior and tile floors.. The garden patio seems beautiful but it’s too cold to dine out there. The server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
From the daily special:Beef Consommé with black and white truffle, beets $13 Golden aroma and flavor.
Also from the special: Salmon tartar is amazing! Fresh and flavorful.
My friend’s entree: Beef Cheek. Heavy and but very tender and delicious.
My entree: Gigot d’Agneau. -roasted leg of lamb with a ragout of coco beans, piquillo peppers, merguez sausage & lamb jus. The thick sauce is so delicious, the entire dish is juicy and flavorful. A classic well done French dish.
Holiday special: the lovely Mint Chocolate Mousse.
The holiday theme dessert plates. The total was about $70 per person plus a bottle of wine. We are very satisfied.
Just like the original Bouchon at Napa Valley, there’s also a Bouchon Bakery at The Venetian hotel. We bought their bakeries at the morning. I stocked up some macaron for the road. My friend loves the chocolate tart.
btw I just got a new camera so I’m still learning the best setting for low lit interior macro shots, these come out grainy and could have been brighter.
The Salmon tartar looks so interesting – looks like chirashi sushi. ^^;; So you can eat well and cheap in Vegas too!
How funny – I was at the Venetian for New Years as well! I have just started posting about my dining experiences 🙂
