Sinbala is an insanely popular Taiwanese joint at Arcadia covering standard Taiwanese food, snack, tea, shaved ice and desserts (hence the line never stops for the entire day).
Taiwanese Sausage with Leeks, less fatty and oily and more clean tasting than traditional Chinese. They have many sauce/sides to go with, from the more conventional garlic, leeks, chili…to mango and chocolate (didn’t have courage to try that yet).
Pumpkin Fried Rice Noodle and Oyster Pancake. They also have an extensive menu of flavorful teas and fancy drinks (Aloe tea, Jelly Tea…etc). Overall it is a good place for snacks and cheap eats if weren’t for the crowd.
Wow from the pictures I would never have guessed it is Taiwanese. Sausage with mango and chocolate…err…
Oyster Pancake doesn’t look like the real thing though!

Japanese Chinese food uses Japanese rice, so it feels a bit off for me.
Also Kim chi, for example, isn’t hot enough!

Yeah the oyster pancake seems a bit ‘clean up’ but inside it’s the same (at least I like it better than most I have before, more ‘refine’ ^^;;)
I get the appeal of sausage + mango or fruits (salty, fruity sour)…but chocolate? ^^;;;; Reminds me of news I read about young Japanese parents feeding their kids chocolate with rice.
haha yeah val, and Japanese-ize taste tend to be sweeter too ￣∀￣
