We went to this small, local yakitori joint at Torrance after a recommendation from a sushi chef. Compare to mega festive place like Shinsengumi, I prefer the homey, authentic vibe here.
There’s only one chef with one charcoal grill, who’s attentive and fast. As the place is small, they have a limited menu that’s more traditional and chicken centric. The seasonings overall are light but not bland.
First time for me: Tori-sashi, which is raw chicken. Very good~
The traditional yakitori stables:
Giblets, Chicken skin, Cartilage, Liver, Hearts, etc.
Corn stuffed Lotus Root, Chicken Wings.
Nothing fancy, simple, traditional but good! Too bad it’s a bit of a drive from LA.
