Alcove Cafe & Bakery (Los Feliz)

By in 04: Los Feliz

DSC04163.jpgDSC04164.jpgDSC04143.jpgFound a very adorable place in Los Feliz! You line up to order food indoor first (love the interior~~) and they’ll bring the food to you. There’s a big courtyard and garden surrounding the cafe with tables, very cozy! There’s a gourmet market on the other side that sells Euro import groceries and cheese, and there’s a wine shop in the back. I’ve gone back to this place 3 times already :).

DSC04145.jpgDSC04146.jpg DSC04192.jpgTurkey Hummus sandwich, Apple and Brie Panini (the combination is wonderful!) and Spinach salad (love that it comes with bacon, apple, olive and avocado). All taste good! You can pick the sides, supposedly the onion rings are very good…hmm…next time.

DSC04167.jpg They have lots of cakes too, cheescake, chocolate cake…which looks predictable and boring, so we tried the red velvet cake which has bloody red sponge, out of curiously. ^^;; Turns out….yuck, no good at all. Their ice-blended coffee drinks are way too sickly sweet too.

I have no idea, that’s why I got it because it looked interesting. People in next table are in awe “wow doesn’t matter if it taste suck, the color is so bright it’s worth it…” ^^;;;; The blood red is just artificial coloring I think? It sure tasted artificial…^^;;; Doing a bit of online search, seems like it is a Southern American state dessert.
