We’ve blogged Viet Noodle Bar long time ago and at that time, our impression was so-so. But ever since we keep going back and back, and now it has become our favorite place! There’s just something about their fresh healthy Vietnamese noodle that even some would argue aren’t “authentic”, but they’re just so delicious and addictive. More importantly these dishes can’t be found anywhere else (or if there are they don’t taste the same).
They have a lot more drinks now. Vietnamese coffee with Soymilk, Lohan fruit tea, Soymilk with black sesame. I forgot what the green one was.
Jicama roll – Good, it’s light and healthy tasting. Jicama is also known as Mexican turnip. The texture is crisp and taste mildly sweet (a little bit like Apple?). I’ve had it diced up with salt and lime juice before.
Fried shrimp roll – very crispy
Jicama chicken meatball noodle bowl with a light tomato sauce. An interesting dish, it’s like a Vietnamese version of a spaghetti with meatballs. The mint leaves were a nice touch. The jicama gave the meatball a nice crispy texture.
White fish and ginger noodle – very good! A very warming dish due to the ginger, good to get when you’re under the weather.
I still think their Bun with Tumeric White Fish and Dill is the star item. I’ve also tried the White fish banh mi and Tumeric White Fish Rice, both are good too.

I had no idea there was a Vietnamese version of spaghetti. How interesting.
those jicama chicken meatballs with the mint noodles are SO GOOD OMFG i can’t order anything else there now.
Thanks for write up! This place is on my list of Vietnamese-fusion restaurants to try. Check out Good Girl Dinette if you haven’t done so already! They do Viet-fusion quite well.
this is my fav place too!!! i usually get 2 orders of the jicama rolls every time i’m there.
I second the recommendation on Good Girl Dinette! fantastic vietnames/american comfort food classics. their sparkling citrus sodas (seasonal flavors) are fantastic.
Actually we blogged good girl before! You can check out our entry here: http://www.potatomato.com/blog/?p=1775
Yes We loved it!
Vietnamese food is always supposed feel fresh and healthy. Though the prices are a no go, I commend them for having unique vietnamese dishes!
