Tartes (Philadelphia)

By in 11: Philadelphia

Tartes is a bakery in a pink little shack with a walked-up window at Old city. As their name suggests, they made gorgeous looking tarts plus other baked goods as well (brownies, cookies and cupcakes).

When you walked up to their window, you can see their kitchen clearly.

The window displays looked absolutely mouth-watering.

I got the Blackberry Almond. Wow this is absolutely divine! They used whole fruits and the crust is so light and fresh. The texture inside is this wonderful marzipan-like soft, delicate chewiness. The blackberries are pure tasting (no additional sugar) hence the the flavor is very natural, very fresh.

Apricot Pistachio. Also very good, though I found the apricot a little too sour for my likings.

I also tried their Red Velvet Cupcake (cream cheese toppings) which was very good as well. I wouldn’t mind walking there as a destination everyday just to get some yummy, fresh baked goodies.
