Soon after the wedding, my husband and I had a pre-honeymoon getaway to Joshua Tree National Park to recharge and rejuvenate. We stayed at the Sacred Sand Bed and Breakfast for 2 nights and we had an amazing time. The room was wonderful and the best part is the nice patio with hot tub and outdoor bed. It was extremely quiet there, especially at night, which is exactly we needed. And I’ve never seen so many stars on the nightsky before!
Breakfast is include in the room rate and it was served at the main house’s dining room. Owners Steven and Scott live in the main house and they would prepare breakfast for the guests at their nice open kitchen. They’re really sweet and are great cooks!
1st day breakfast. The cardamon on the fruit salad was a nice touch. The Chilaquiles with mole was delicious, the mole sauce tasted pretty authentic.
2nd day breakfast was even better! They made the fig and rum jam and it’s very good. It’s hard to go wrong with baked egg and I love the tomato + scallions + shallot garnish on the potatos.
You can have as much coffee, fresh squeeze orange juice, tea or whatever you like as you want. Everything tasted fresh and homemade.
As for the Joshua Tree national park, I absolutely love it! The landscapes are so strange and out of this world that I felt like I was in either a pre-historic land or an alien planet. It’s a great weekend getaway from LA. Apparently it’s really beautiful in Spring with flowers blossoming. It’ll be nice to go back and stay at Sacred Sand again!
