A hard to spot Vietnamese Sandwich shop is tucked behind trees on the hilly Hyperion with no visible sign. They open at Noon – 3pm everyday.
The Deli (Cold Cut) Sandwich is unconventional: instead of the usual pickled carrot and daikon radish garnishes, it’s pan fried dried orange daylily and carrot in a limey fish sauce. It’s so heavenly aromatic and made the cold cut extra umami, amazing! However the next time I went, the garnish is changed to the usual pickled carrot/daikon combo. The baguette is a little too hard though.
On Friday only, they would roast a pig! Unfortunately I’ve never had a Friday off to try it yet.
