La Galette (San Clemente)

PPV $6.95: ripe pears poached in red wine with mascarpone & vanilla sauce. This is a true delight for a pear lover like me (and LA is drought on pears), so it feels like finding a gold mine. The crepe skin is so smooth and eggy. The mascarpone is so thick but puffy~! The pears are so rich with red wine. The vanilla sauce (which I thought was honey at first) just taste like a golden touch. The picture is half portion, they split it for us so Joan and I didn’t have to fight for it. The waitress forgot our order so we sat there waiting for awhile sipping coffee. She made up by not charging our coffee. ^^;; When we passed by this hole-in-the-wall Parisian Creperie looking place (La Galette) by the San Clemente beach, I knew it would be GOOD! Small charming gem like this is what upped the intimate and romance level of a beach.

    The crepe with strawberry and blueberry looks huge!! (Real thing may come out different though…^^;;) The place is actually facing the beach, right? Must be nice to sit outside.

    Oh yeah their crepe is huge, even half is quite a good portion. This places faces the beach, but there’s a train track right in front of it. So when the train passed by…very scenary killing (and noisy). Other than that…what a fantasy to own a place like this ^^;;;;
