I met my friend, whose office locates at the Venice beachfront, for lunch. She recommended Figtree’s Cafe. The menu offers organic and wholegrain food. Only a few of the breakfast menu items are available for whole day, such as this one: Eggs Lulu: Scramble with soy chorizo, spinach, pesto lox, eggs, onion. It taste so fresh, and the more bite I ate the more savory it is. VERY good!

    don’t envy much Tomoko, the Venice beach is a sketchy place to live and work, very scary at night. ^^;; My friends who worked there have to wander for more than 20 mins every morning to find parking on the street. At night the homeless beach bums arises like “Dawn of the Dead” all over the beach. I know someone who lived there said that he will never go out to the beach at night (the beach bums all circled in groups, would make bondfires, drunken and singing and whatever else they’re doing). The old brick building next to this cafe…is a temporary shelter for ex-con who just got out of prison…^^;;;; Venice in general is just sketchy,. I have another friend who lived there, one time he held a BBQ party, some guy got beat up just right outside his house and th e guests were all looking, my friend was panicked and tried to signal everyone NOT to look. It’s an everyday affair. He get harassed everyday when going home (hence all his friends hate going to his house). My boss lived there too, despite all the $$$ houses…and there’re drug dealers just around the corner and they have to be afraid of being ‘accidental witness” just looking outside their window. They have this neighorhood campaign to constantly call the cops just so they can get patrols often. ^^:;

    Is Spinach still not safe to eat? I worried too btu I just ate some on Monday…err….
