Il Chianti (Lomita)

By in 17: South Bay

I had a wonderful dinner at this Japanese Italian chain Il Chianti before, I came back to try their lunch. They kept the Japanese way: $8-10 set lunch that includes everything from drinks, soup, salad, and dessert!

Pork soup and salad (w. delicious Japanese salad dressing).

Pasta of the day is Tomato sauce with Pork and zucchini and a so-so Bacon Wrap (should have just got Pasta-only). Joan got their Lunch Plate which is basically a sampler plate, with the same pasta/salad I had plus Beef Tongue.
DSC01727.jpgMacha Bavarois with creamy milky red bean sauce, so good! Despite the incredible deal, and pasta being very well made, I craved for more unique flavor. That’s why lunch sets are always a dilemma: should I get the preset Lunch set that comes with everything, or just one pasta of my true craving…^^;;

They’re having an anniversary all-half price celebration on 10/19 (hope I remember right).

    You mean they serve a la carte at lunch time? But that will be the same price as dinner, right? Better go for your true craving at dinner instead. ^^;;;
    You can always phone the restaurant and ask what the pasta of the day is before you go all the way there…^^;;;

    That seem embarassing…^^;;; have you done that before?

    Oops, I missed this.
    Yeah I have called and asked about lunch menu of the day…it isn’t that embarassing I think…? ^^;; Maybe I am used to calling restaurants, booking, changing the booking, confirming the booking, cancelling the booking etc. ^^;;;
