Grub (Hollywood)

By in 08: Hollywood

Joan blogged about Grub before (here and here) but this is the first time I’ve tried it. Before this place was known to us as the relaxing neighborhood lunch spot near our workplace in the form of a cute little house, now we all know it as Top Chef 2’s “I cook comfort food’ Betty‘s restaurant (and her personalities are all over it with the naming of the menu the likes of “ba da bing” this, “mama mia” that).

Cute veggie basket.

White Truffle Burger ($10.95) The menu saids “Oh my goodness, yes! Soooo good you will shout Hallalujah!” (imagine Betty’s voice saying this) She’s right! Very delicious~ 😀 The patty is (c&p from menu) Ground Beef with Wild Mushrooms, topped with Gruyere Cheese, Caramelized Onions and Arugula with Garlic Mayo, drizzled with rich White Truffle Oil. The aroma and the flavors are so rich, very wonderful~

Brie with With Prosciutto de Parma and Fig-Rosemary-White Wine Jam on Dutch Crunch ($9.95) The cold hard brie are a bit blocky to eat. The unusual ingredients of the jam gave a bit of complexity of flavors. Since it’s so big and blocky to eat I can only finished half. When I took home the other half and re-baked for dinner, I like it more with softer brie. The drinks are Homemade Ginger ale and Blueberry Lemonade (a bit watery?).

Very satisfying~ It’s a happy lunch spot, quite expensive though (another Hollywood comfort food lunch spot Doughboys is cheaper).

Oh you must have read the slaughterhouse section…^^;; On menu the potato chips sound fancy (homemade peppered blah blah blah) but turns out just normal chips.
