Very nice American eatery near Tokyo Dome. Both the burgers and the sandwiches are good but I think the burgers are better in terms of taste and value. I like the Blue cheese burger and the Mushroom Burger the most – they are also the most expensive.Try not to go at peak hours cos it is just the chef in the kitchen and the quality suffers when the restaurant is packed, especially on weekend lunchtime.

A favourite lunch spot near Tokyo Dome. Lunch includes salad, plain rice or rice with green shiso(aojiso), miso soup – all refillable. This is a sister restaurant of Bodaiju(entry here) and is in the same location. The menu is quite similar but I really like the non-deep-fried menu in Katsu Kichi. At lunch time, Katsu Kichi is non-smoking which is great, despite the fact that there is this old furniture smell, probably from the wooden decor, that always takes a few mins getting used to. Service is good in both places.

Aburi-Chashu ramen. For some reason the chashu comes in a plate separately from the ramen. The soup, the chashu, the seasoned egg and the seasoned Eryngii mushroom are all not bad but I find them too salty. You can choose either thick noodles or thin noodles. Thick noodles is made from barley and thin noodles is made from “black wheat”. Thick noodles is chewy and thin noodles is almost like soba. Both are good but I personally prefer thick noodles.

Special tsukemen is not salty(phew!) and is quite good. The portion is so big that I couldn’t finish – the cheaper version of tsukemen is enough.

This is a branch of a ramen chain originally from Nagano. Not the kind of high-profile “gourmet” ramen shop that always has queue outside, but it is cheap and it opens really long hours(11:00am to 2:00am) which is kinda convenient.

“Black-haired” wagyu hamburger steak set, 2100yen. Also came with beansprout. The waiter rolled out the huge hotplate on a wagon, poured the demi-glace sauce and cut the hamburger in front of you. Rice is mixed with green shiso(aojiso). Salad, rice and miso soup are all refillable.

Donburi with pork katsu in a hot stone pot. The staff pours the soup to the katsu(also udon at the bottom) and you add the raw egg and seaweed yourself. Choose it only if you like katsu soaked in soup…
Assorted fry: Kushi-katsu(kushi means skewer) with pumpkin, shishitou pepper, onion and pork. Crab cream croquette.

Overall the food is good. Service very friendly. Opens on Sunday and holidays. Only thing is there is no non-smoking seats. The sister restaurant Katsu Kichi next door is non-smoking at lunch time and the menu is similar.

Pork donburi with Yoshida sauce(actual thing displayed in the shop), 600yen. Plus salad, 100yen. Seems like Yoshida sauce is famous in US?? I have never heard of it….Anyway, tastes very junkfood. Pork is dry. 600yen donburi looks big but it is mainly rice with very little pork. You get double amount of the pork for an extra 150yen, triple for 300yen. Don’t think I will go back though.
