Third visit. Avocado salad. Simmered pork belly with vegetables. Simmered pork shoulder loin with nam pla(has noodles in it). A small shop specialised in pork. Food is simple but nice. Two of us ordered a rice(M) to share, only 2300yen in total(excluding drinks). Very cheap!

トンデキセット、950円。
Second visit. Pork steak set. Comes in a hot plate, the sauce is butter and caper, very good! I was the first customer and after me, two people ordered the same set and it got sold out already! The steak is nice but the pork I had in my first visit(below) was more juicy and fatty. The shop looks so cute, you wouldn’t imagine the menu is all pork and the cooks and customers are all guys. ^^;;

060125 009.jpgFirst visit. Grilled pork lunch, 780yen. The pork is very very good!!! Very juicy and soft, with just the right amount of fat. The sauce is a bit salty but goes well with rice.

田舎風パテ(写真は半分)。
A country-style French restaurant specialised in pork. Reviews on the internet are always full of gasps on how huge how massive the portions are, so I was really looking forward to get totally stuffed. 2 of us decided to share just one appetizer and two main courses, and desserts later.
Appetizer: country-style pate. The picture is half portion. To be honest I was a bit shocked how thin it was…I needn’t to have worried at all, I could easily finish one portion myself. Anyway, it was good, liver and meat and fat all in good balance. Unfortunately the baguette they served was unbelievably hard and dry and impossible to eat…hmm. The snack was fried pork skin, didn’t dare eating too much even though it was good with wine(^^;).

岩手白金豚骨付きロースのグリエ。沖豚すね肉のコンフィ。
Pork rib roast was wonderful! Very juicy and tender. It was over 3400yen, definitely not cheap, and the portion was supposed to be large, so I was a bit disappointed when it came out “normal size”. The pork knuckle confit was about 2800yen, and it was just as I pictured it, very huge! But then the center bone was big, and most of the edible part was all fats with very little meat, my friend didn’t want to eat the fats part so basically I had to finish it…err…I was not that full and I do like fatty pork, but meatless plain fats always get me a little sick(^^;;).

ガトーバスク、クリームブリュレ。
Gateau basque, a bit old and stale…hmm. Creme brulee is very simple but very good! With a glass of wine each, it was 6000yen per person.

A friend’s birthday. She loves pork so I picked this place which is specialised in kagoshima pork.
Free appetizer, pork ear(!) and cabbage salad.
ゆで豚とろマスタード風味。Poached fatty pork, with mustard. Drenched in too much oil, but the pork is soft and tender.

ロースカツ。Deep-fried pork shoulder meat. Wow it is sooooooo nice!!! Probably the best I have ever eaten!! It is surprisingly NOT oily and the meat is soft with the right amount of fat. I am not a big fan of fried pork but oooh this is heaven!
角煮。This is usually my favourite dish but this one turned out quite hard and not fatty enough….hmm….

バラシソ焼。 Grilled pork belly with siso. A bit rough and tasteless…..
コラーゲン揚げ。It is called “fried collagen” but it is just fried pork skin, taste is so-so.

軟骨煮。Stewed gristle? This is very very very good!! Well balanced amount of meat and fat and soft bones.
サツマイモアイス。Potato ice-cream, not bad. Two of us both had a drink and a coffee, and the total came up to about 7000yen.
