谷中カフェ (Yanaka Cafe)

0709190034Very tiny cafe offering healthy organic food. Lunch set with genmai(brown rice) is 1000yen, including coffee which is quite nice. You can choose either seafood or organic vegetables, but the veggy was sold out so I had the sauteed scallop. The portion is really small!! Taste-wise it is okay - the brown rice was quite soggy. Last visit here.
Menu(J) here.

Hmm..."Natural food"? "Slow food"?
Oh you lucky girl! I wish I had someone cooking multi-grain rice for me. If cooked right, I think it is very tasty. And you don't get hungry so quickly eating brown rice when compared to white rice. I eat so much greasy food when I go out already, my body craves healthy taste when I eat in.

Is there a proper name for these kind of 'home-cooking taste' cuisine?

I missed white rice sometimes because brown rice is all what my mom cooked. Now she has moved on to multi-grain/bean kind of rice...every weekend she'd cook a big pot of them and pack a huge box for us to bring home, and they'll last us whole week. ^^;; They're hard to digest, you must chew it very thoroughly, so troublesome to eat (but supposed to be good ^^;;)

Apparently brown rice is difficult to cook...
I was so tempted to go into a different restaurant and have a second lunch...but I refrained myself. Strong willpower yeh?!!
