PĀTISSIER INAMURA SHOZO (パティシェ イナムラ ショウゾウ)

061109 004上野の山のモンブラン。ポムカネル。
Mont blanc. Layered from top to bottom with marron paste, fresh cream, sponge, custard cream, and sponge again. Also some marron bits here and there. This regular Mont blanc can't quite beat the more luxurious version in terms of the (marron/other stuff) ratio, and the richness of the marron itself, but it is quite nice nonetheless, and a bit cheaper. Think of it as a marron sponge cake rather than a Mont Blanc. Another seasonal item - green apple mousse, cinnamon apple, caramel mousse, and chocolate sponge as the base. Nice combination of sweet and sour. Got the Lemon pound cake to take away too - everyone in the line in front of me got the lemon cake so I just followed. ^^;; Lovely lemony flavour and moist texture. Can keep it for 4 days but I ate it in 2 by myself easily.

I have started tagging the photos in Flickr, and I have a mont blanc tag lor...Don't you get very frustrated arranging photos in Flickr cos the tool is so difficult to use and the loading is so slow? Okay I am very impatient...
Yeah I don't like mousse actually, but I picked mousse cake in this place anyway cos it seems to be more popular.

I seriously think you should organize in Flickr a "Mont Blanc" folder, collect all the mont blanc you had. This one looks so different from others, just like the last one you have, they're not the typical cream in spaghetii-thin size kind.

I also always follow good sign when there's a high concentrate hit-rate for a certain item (even if it's not what I usually crave...^^;;).

Oh yeah now I remember! We were saying they were probably afraid that people might associate the brand of the shop with some nobody instead of the chef himself, so didn't let you take pictures of any human being at all. ^^;; But towards their customers, they are very friendly. The shop was so busy but I ordered the wrong cake and noticed too late, but they unpacked everything and changed for me, with a very nice friendly smile as well.

If you can remembered, that's the one i've reported on 2 years ago.
I was supposed to interview the patissier himself, but he was sick. No one could predict that so that's fine. But we're told that no one of the shop could be taken photos except the patissier!? I must have talk with the air and get the dialogue by some extra sensory perception.

Sorry not a word about the cake!
