Fritto Misto (Santa Monica)

By in 16: Santa Monica

DSC03974.jpgFound a really nice cheap lunch spot at Santa Monica! My friend got a coupon for this Italian place at the Taste of Nation event. The service was very warm and welcoming. They have daily lunch specials on weekdays.

A half soup half pasta special I got: Japanese Pumpkin Raviolli with Spinach in Garlic Cream Sauce. This is so delicious! The pumpkin was so sweet, while the raviolli skin was soft and light. The garlic cream sauce so so unforgettably tasty. I wished I had ordered a full pasta instead.

My friends’ orders: Cold Pasta: Pillows Pesto (tasty as well) and Baked Ziti (alright).

I love that I found my favorite dish on a first visit. I can’t wait to try anything with that yummy garlic cream sauce~

    Checked it out online, the place looks like an upscale cafeteria and seems vegetarian friendly 🙂 What’s the price like?

    Hey RP, yeah it’s a cafe (very casual) and yes they have many vegetarian stuff. The lunch specials are like $8-10, very good deal! My friend’s coupon are buy one get one free so I didn’t have to pay much.

    Yes Foodette, it’s a pretty neat place~ 😀

    An American who came to Japan to visit asked me if there is only one kind of pumpkin in Japan and if it is the same as “Squash” in the states…I thought pumpkin was the same everywhere… ^^;;;

  5. Freda says:

    Yeah I wonder~ The Japanese pumpkin used in this ravioli is ‘yellow’, and very sweet! Is it called Japanese pumpkin in Japan too I wonder?
