Orris is a gourmet French-Japanese fusion small plates/tapas place in Sawtelle across from Giant Robot, it’s opened by the same chef from Shiro, the French restaurant in Pasadena which I found so-so and overprice. So I was surprised at how good and affordable Orris is!
L: Smoked Scallop with cavior and ikura $9, it’s my first time trying smoked scallop, yummy!
M: Pepper with fried Prosciutto and cheese $6.50, goes well with beer!
R: Lamb Loin $10, the lamb is so soft and smooth, wow, it’s my most favorite dish of the night.

L: Potato dauphinois in casserole $5, a good and cheap filling dish, delicious~~
M: Ravioli filled with shrimp mousse and Shitake Mushroom sauce $8, good!
R: Chocolate souffle with coffee gelato, the coffee gelato is really good! Very rich coffee flavor.
I’ve grown to like tapas. It’s not unexpected since Dim sum and Izakaya are my favorite type of Chinese and Japanese restaurants too. 🙂 Also I absolutely don’t mind “fusion” when it’s French + Japanese, what a good mixed!
