Bosco Cake Salon (Koreatown)

There are at least two of this Korean Pastry & coffeehouse within blocks of each other (one at California Market and the other at the Chapman Plaza). I went to the one at Chapman Plaza. They have a good range of French (or Japanese French)-influenced pastries. They looked a bit plain and less delicate than I’m used to. They are alright. We had the Yam Cake and the yummy Coffee icecream with Red Bean Bingsoo (the little white bites are mochi). The interior is a bit tried-too-hard girly classic French cafe, and annoying Korean pop was blasting loud. The patio is quite nice (but facing the parking lot) ^^;;

    I thought you hate red beans?! Red beans with coffee ice-cream…sounds a strange combination though. ^^;;

    this is the bakery i was talking about and the yam cake they make is so much better than the crapy one we had @ the cafe the other nite.

    hehe yeah never like red beans, but when I saw the cakes and dessert, I didn’t feel like the faux French mousse cake nor cheesecake so I found the most Asian flair sweets. I enjoyed it…haha…sorta change my biased toward red beans. The flavor goes surprisingly well with taste of coffee.

    hehe yeah Tina I remember you mentioned it that’s why I tried the yam cake, it is muuuuch better than that stale and all cream one at coffee cana. Though it is a different Bosco, the one you went was at the market nearby our places, this one is farer away.

    red bean + coffee actually taste good!

    Tina have you tried the cake shop in that supermarket at the 1st floor of the Gallaria mall (on Western/olympic)? We’ll post an entry about it soon but wow it’s VERY GOOD! Their mont blanc taste like the good ones I had in Japan, the pumpkin cake we had was very good too. Now wanna try all their cakes…
