Honey Dew Lemonade. I heard about this place. It is an upscale cafeteria for the business crowds located at the modern concrete+glass business building Westside Media Center. That building has a very slick courtyard. The patrons are all westside business people (feeling out of place there ^^:;). It is opened by two chefs from two famous highend restaurants in Santa Monica.
The deli section features fusion multi-ethnic salad, such as the Thai Chicken Coconut Soup (too light), Moroccan Eggplant (very spiced, hurting my tongue midway) and a balsamic vinegrette (?) corn salad (I could take a few bites, then it just get too intensely acidic, especially combined with the former). The other offerings at the deli include stuffs like Spicey Korean noodle salad, Vietnamese rice paper wrap with avacado (which the lady in front of me thought was ‘spring roll’ ^^:;), etc. They might seem ‘unusual’ at first (especially for cafeteria food), but I envied the simple burger and fries other people ordered instead…
Clearly serving the business crowd, this cafeteria only opens on weekdays. The brunch menu is only served till 10am. It’s a good quality (and unboring) quick grab for people working around Olympic & Bundy, but not a ‘destination’…
So weird to see people in suits in your pics…^^;;
Were you happened to be near there or did you go there specifically for this place?
I have eaten there a couple of times: great panini sandwhiches, andgood breakfast (gigantic breakfast portions). My one gripe is thier “rock shrimp ceviche” salad – small shrimp, not rock, and cooked shrimp, not just marinated in lime.
I went there specifically, got detour because the freeway I usually take was shut off for construction. I wish there’s such slick and nice upscale cafeteria nearer where I work, very convenient~
Bree thanks for sharing the experiences. My friends told me about their breakfast being good, too bad the time isn’t right for me. I’d like to try their order menu (instead of deli), the burger and sandwiches seems good!
