Jon’s friend from Brooklyn is in town so we took her to the charming Auntie Em’s Kitchen for brunch. Previous entry 1,2. We got there at around 11:30 and there’s a bit of a queue. I got the special tarte (the last piece) with spinach, Gruyere, shitake mushroom and red bell pepper. It’s very good. Fresh ingredients, the flavors blend really well together.
Open Faced Breakfast Sandwiches: Brie and Tomato and Portobello Mushroom & Roasted Red Peppers. Our friend from Brooklyn love this place a lot, especially the patio with sunshine.
Btw I heard from my friend that the owner used to be in a punk band called…Red Aunts (he’s a fan and overheard the owner yelling for an order and recognize immediately). That explains the red walls, the ‘auntie’…:D

I’d like to ask- on a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate that tart? I have several recipes for it and am always lured by it’s beauty, but it just seems like so…much….stuff! I’d like to try making it but, after all that effort, almost need a guarentee that it will be worth it. What do you think?
