Jon and I walk around the Korea town neighbourhood one night and found this very downhome place that’s walking distance from my condo. The space is small and its downhome-ness is enchanced by the TV monitor on the wall that’s playing old 90s Korean soap drama. The owner lady and waitress were both very friendly to us even their English is not so good. I got the rice cake and mandoo soup and Jon got the Kimchi fried rice (there’s suppose to be an egg on the top, it came later after the picture was taken). Both are Korean comfort food at its best. All the sides are good. There’re also causal Japanese dishes on the menu too (ex: soba, udon, curry rice), I wonder if they’re good. It’s definitely a good causal cheap eat place to go back to.

Update 2008: sadly it’s closed. It’s now some Korean owned Pho place…

    Seem nice! Is kimchi fried rice very spicy?

    Maybe the “soba, udon and curry rice” are Korean version but they just use the commonly known Japanese names?
    btw I heard Koreans put kimchi into their curry!

    kimchi curry…hmm….kinda a wasteful combine as both are dominating flavor? ^^;;;
