Chabuya Japan (Sawtelle)

A slick modernized ramen chain in Japan Chabuya finally open one in LA. Their ramen is very thin (almost doll-noodle like) and frankly, so so… The “Sandwich”, a bit weird to put mayo+ketchup on the Chinese bun, the pork is good though. I’m not too impressed overall.

Kanpai (Playa del Rey)

Hehe have sushi (with my sushi-snob co-worker) again~ Oh the ikura is soooo good! It’s very different from the usual super salty trashy tasting ones. It is rich and sweeter, and it has a wonderful subtle aftertaste. Saba vs Spanish. Spanish are way superior (and more $$$).

My coworker ordered $40 sushi (and it’s norm for him)! O.O;; The Spanish Mackerel was so heavenly. I had the fatty tuna and albacore don, taste a bit too ‘fishy.’ The dessert Milk Pudding is oh my…so delicious!!!!

Tapas for wine: Marinated Raw Squid, Korean Creme Cheese (normal creme cheese ate with seaweed ^^;;).
