Cafe Obecni Dum (Prague: Municipal House)

Another tourist spot, the Art Nouveau (Jugendstil in Central Europe) Municipal House. To complete the tourist experience, we have coffee at their cafe. The golden Art Houveau decor is a bit…tattered between the fine line of decadent glam and chessy grandeur.

The coffee was ordered from a menu while the cakes were ordered from a dim sum-like cart which you pay on the spot. The sweets are very much Austrian style. We also got a sachertorte which was not so good (report of Viennese Sachertorte coming soon).

The cakes are actually not that sweet~~
I found that Austrian taste are generally sweet and creamy, but yet not overboard, it’s the perfect level of sweetness that’s still considerable mild compare to those tooth-hurting, so-sweet-it-turn-bitter sweetness of American cakes..
