Cendrillon (NYC: Soho)

By in 03: NYC

DSC08688.jpgI always tried to get out earlier working so I get to do a bit of shopping; the stores here closed surprisingly early. I saw this Filipino+Japanese fusion place at Soho. Turns out it’s an overpriced place, and all asian girl + white man couples filling up the entire place that night. (so awkward and uncomfortable being alone…). Grilled oxtail kare-kare (oxtail braised in tomatoes & peanut with longbeans & eggplant with fermented shrimp paste), doesn’t taste as good as it sounds. There’re a lot of curry on the menu and I don’t see much Japanese side really. There was also a bit of commotion: a mysterious cellphone kept ringing the entire night and no one figure out where it came from. Phantom phone call from another space and time maybe…

It’s really quite a sight, like every table is white man + asian woman combine, all sucessful business looking people. Only one couple are very young girl & much older man and i had to endure their conversations all night (the girl sound very high pitch and act all cute and dumb -__-;;).
More so in East Village too actually, the hipster area with the more artsy hipster crowd, every couple there are Asian girl + white/latino. I remember someone told me about this before, now I know it’s true.
