Primitivo Wine Bistro (Abbot Kinney)

By in 15: Venice

DSC03152.jpgDSC03161.jpgMore tapas~ Primitivo Wine Bistro is simply crazy on Friday night. Our reserved table (tiny little high table) was right next to the bar and the bar crowd kept squeezing onto us. Like Hal on the same street, this bistro/bar is packed with OLDDDDD but err…successful looking 40s-60s people. -_-;;; Right next to us there’s a white hair old man (looked a bit like Ian McKellen) kept flirting with us o_O, despite he had two beautiful Asian ladies with him (one older and younger). He’s a salesman from a film/TV production place, their boss is there as well. The Sangria is alright. We also had white and red wine. The food is wonderful.

DSC03165.jpgDSC03171.jpgDSC03174.jpgChilled Oyster (delicious~), Prosciutto wrapped dates, dried figs and Idiazabal cheese (so good~), and Rosemary skewered Ahi tuna with orange, soy and sherry (tuna a bit too cooked).

DSC03177.jpgDSC03178.jpgThe old man next to us highly recommended this Grilled flat iron steak with pommes frites, paprika, Portuguese salt and chipotle-harsissa, he’s right, it’s really really good! *O* The fries are simply the best I’ve ever had. The steak is just soooo perfect~ my goodness! On the right is the seafood special, it reminded me of Korean side dishes…it’s alright.

DSC03184.jpgDSC03185.jpgTriple Chocolate with Chocolate Meringue, Chocolate Mousse and Chocolate Truffle ^^;;; The old man also recommended the Bread pudding, which I found okay, can’t compare to it.

Is fig and cheese in pic?? The steak does look very good! At first I thought the seafood special was a side-dish of the steak…the triple chocolate looks good too. What, you listen to the harmsup ojisan’s recommendations? Hahaha~~~~How is the price??

Haha rich old man should have pretty good taste right?

the price is pretty good actually. With tax and tips, in the end (including the 2 glass of wine that aren’t in pix) it was about $30 per person for a party of 3. Tapas really is a good deal!
