Here’s how to treat your out-of-town-guest for a very Los Angeles morning: hike at Runyon Canyon and then top it off with a brunch at Salt’s Cure.

Salt’s Cure is a small eatery that uses local ingredients and have most of their items prepared in houses: pickles, jams, bread, scones…etc. Their meat, sausages and bacon are butchered and smoked in house too. Freda tried their hamburger before and loved it. Jon and I tried their brunch instead after hiking.

The all star breakfast is amazing! Two eggs, scone with homemade jam, two bacons, two sausages and pancakes. The scones and the pancakes were the best. The scone was fresh and buttery while the pancakes were thin and fluffy. It’s an ideal breakfast plate that has everything I like.

Their menu changes regularly, here’s a special of the day: Shredded pork, tortilla and eggs. Hearty and quite spicy.

Salt’s Cure Burger. A simple, classic burger with a moist, well seasoned patty and addition of crispy bacon. The bun is very good too.

The food is great and the prepared-in-house ingredients are special so the price is not too affordable. It’s small place and it’s really popular so the wait could be long. Come early or make your reservation!
