House (Interior) at Mammoth

Inside of the house! 😀 2 stories + 1 attic + 1 basement.

The Ladder climbed to the treehouse like attic room where 3 guys shared ^^;; Right: the basement.

Cozy fireplace (the logs were delivered every week).

Rant: The initial ideal setup was that: we could snowboard by day and work at afternoon + night. But as we arrived, we found out that the arranged ‘office space’ was quite far from the house (not a mere ‘2 mins walk away’ as we were told). It was a rather scary slippery 10 min drive at the town downhill. That not only made the initial ski+work arrangement more difficult (we only have 3 cars, and everyone has his/her own schedule when to play & when to work), it also jeoperdized my work as I’m on a production schedule. I have my final delivery (the stop motion piece!) on Thursday, so I have heavy loads of rendering (time-consuming) and uploading (= need reliable and fast internet connection and long time). I can’t imagine myself stayed up till 3 in the morning at the cold, depressing office, with snow storm outside and called to wake up whoever at the hosue to get me. In my opinion that is very inconvenient and unproductive. Especially seeing the cozy fireplace and warm house with such a beautiful view…of course everyone wants to stay in the house. After a morning of physical intense snowboarding, you come back to the house bruised and tired, you wanted to just get right to work after shower and hot cocoa. But the producers insisted the house as ‘sleeping-only’ so the computers must stay in the office. But really IMO, the house has so much better energy and everyone would have been happier. I was so ready to go home if I cannot have my computer at the house. After some heated debate (led by Adam) we finally won a little bit, meaning only Adam and my computers were allowed in the house as we would leave with them. Other creative people’s computers were taken to the office. But feelings were already bruised. For the next couple days, the difficult work situation has just proven how right we were. It is in everyone’s great inconvenience that people have to grudgingly go down to the office. One guy didn’t have a ride one day so he walked all the way down that dangerous no-sidewalk hill…and some people stayed in that office till 5 in the morning just to wait around for a file to be finished, etc. just lots of these unnecessary inconvenience that could be avoid if we can all have our computers at home. While I do understand that they wanted the office to be setup for the bigger picture (later on much more people will go up), but not everyone has same work schedule and those of us who have heavy productions to in this kind of frustrated arrangement are basically screwed. And if it’s not bad enough, the internet at the office SUCKS! O_o So I got to say this Work@ Mammoth didn’t turn out as well as I hoped. But I did have fun learning snowboarding (hurts though T__T).

    You have the computer in your room?? Why did you have to debate over your own arrangement of where to work? Or you share the same space with the others and they don’t want to see you working while they are relaxing??

    BECAUSE THE COMPUTER IS MY WORK COMPUTER AND SOME PEOPLE WANTED ALL WORK COMPUTERS TO BE AT THE SAME PLACE SO EVERYONE WORKS AT THE SAME AREA…SUPPOSEDLY BETTER WORK ENERGY OR SOMETHING. BUT EVIDENTLY PEOPLE FELT RELUNTANT TO SHOW UP AT OFFICE AND BEING TRAP THERE UNNECESSARIY…I FELT A BIT GUILTY FOR BEING ABLE TO STAY IN THE HOUSE (ENVY OF THOSE WHO HAD TO GO TO OFFICE) BUT IN THE END IT’S ALL WORTH IT BECAUSE I GET MY WORK DONE FAST WITHOUT ANY DRAMA NOR DIFFICULTY.

    The most important thing was to get your work done and it was wise of you not to compromise that in order to please everyone lo.

    Love the stopwatch part! ^^;;
    But wait, why is the mushroom chasing the Bunny?? ^^;;;;;;;

  6. Freda says:

    thanks~ You probably can’t see from the low resoluation but the letters on the stop watch actaully saids “FREDAS” ^^;;; the animator who make that put my name on it ^^;;; The mushroom was simply ‘following the rabbit’ (= Alice in Wonderland), but also because the rabbit taunted him (almost wanted middle finger there but we can’t do that ^^;;) before going down the rabbit hole.

    I looked close and saw “FREDAS” this time! Hahaha! The gap between “Bunny” and “Mission impossible” music just made me laugh every time.
